LECTURE

Week 11

This week, we focus on digital photography. Mr. Fauzi introduced us to its basic knowledge, such as exposure setting, lens perspective and the difference between DSLR and smartphone.

Exposure

In photography, exposure is the amount of light reaching the camera sensor or film.
The main components of the camera include:
Camera body: shutter, image sensor, LCD screen
Lens: aperture / aperture
The camera body is an anti light box.

1. Aperture: aperture / aperture controls the optical flow into the lens. It is measured by f-stop and expressed in the order of f-number: F / 1, f / 1.4, f / 2, f / 2.8, f / 4, f / 5.6, f / 8, f / 11, f / 16, f / 22 and F / 32. The lower the F number, the larger the lens opening.

2. Shutter: the shutter is a small plastic sheet that can be opened and closed to make light shine on the film or prevent light from reaching the film. Shutter speed is measured in seconds: 1 / 1000 second, 1 / 500 second, 1 / 250 second, 1 / 125 second, 1 / 60 second, 1 / 30 second, 1 / 15 second, 1 / 8 second, 1 / 4 second, 1 / 2 second, 1 second, 2 seconds, 3 seconds

3. ISO: Originally referred to the sensitivity of film—it's "light gathering" ability. For digital photography, ISO refers to the sensitivity—the signal gain—of the camera's sensor. The common ISO camera settings are: 100, 200, 400, 640, 800, 1600, 3200, 6400…. The lower the number of ISO the less sensitive your camera is to light and the finer the grain.

PRACTICAL

"Self naming" is an exploratory project, which aims to let students express their personality and reflect their personality into the self-expression of digital art. The main purpose is to build confidence and discover their interests.
This week, we started developing new ideas. We need to write a biography about ourselves, a statement about our work, and find inspiration on the Internet.

Part 2: design direction
I drew my model poster with digital technology. The first sketch will be my front view and the second sketch will be my back view. Both have a similar concept, that is, to capture the moment of my painting.
